Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to visit me virtually.
My name is Sophie. I qualified with a BTEC Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling in 2019, and I am an Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society (Membership No: NCS22-01159). I am a certified Online and Telephone Counsellor (ACTO) and am insured by Holistic Insurance Services. I am fully DBS checked and hold an Advanced Certificate in Safeguarding.
As a member of the NCS, I offer my clients a safe, ethical, competent, and professional service at all times, ensuring I comply with the ethics and values set out by the NCS in their Code of Ethical Practice.
Having worked with children and young people aged between 11 and 19 years based in a secondary school setting and with adults through a local, non-profit organisation, I have experience in areas such as working with managing:

Throughout the recent pandemic, I also volunteered for Frontline19; an organisation set up in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, providing virtual therapy sessions to NHS frontline keyworkers.
In my private practice I offer counselling nationally via Zoom as well as locally by means of face-to-face sessions taking place in a private therapy room. I also offer the option of walk and talk therapy within the local area.
As a qualified, registered, and experienced Counsellor, I adopt a person-centred approach, meaning our sessions are more directed by you than led by me. It is time reserved for you, to be accepted and listened to without judgement.
The person-centred approach promotes the development of a strong therapeutic relationship and this, in turn, provides a solid base upon which change, and growth can eventuate, however I do integrate aspects of other approaches if they can be of benefit to you.
